Ch 4

Row 1: working in the BLO of the chs, sc2tog using the 2nd and 3rd ch from the hook, hdc in the final ch (2)

Cut the yarn, ch 1, and pull through. Use the two tail ends to sew onto the head before you sew it closed.

Ch 3

Step 1: working into the BLO of the chs, pull the chs tight and slst into the 3rd ch from the hook.

Step 2: ch 3, pull the chs tight, slst into the same ch as step 1.

Cut the yarn, ch 1, and pull through. Use the two tail ends to sew onto the bottom of the body before you sew it closed.

Ch 10 (leaving a long tail end)

Row 1: starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across (9)

Row 2: turn, ch 1, sc in each st (9)

Row 3: turn, ch 2 and pull the chs tight, working into both loops and into the other side of the chs you worked into for Row 1, slst in each. Make sure to work around a twisted pipe cleaner as you go so that it is in between the fold. (9)

Row 4: turn, ch 1, working into the slsts, sc 2, hdc 1, dc 1, mp, dc 1, hdc 1, sc 1, slst 1 (8 +1mp, stoping 1 st early)

Cut the yarn and pull through. Hide the end into the wing.

Magic loop

Rnd 1: sc 6 into the magic loop (6)

Rnd 2: inc in each st (12)

Rnd 3: [sc 3, inc 1] 3 times (15)

Rnd 4: sc in each st (15)

Rnd 5: [sc 4, inc 1] 3 times (18)

Rnds 6-9: sc in each st (18 x 4)

Add eyes into Rnd 4 into sts 3 and 7.

Embroider teeth on in white yarn or a vampire nose in pink between the eyes.

Pull the tail end from the beginning through the center of the magic loop and cut short to make a little tuft of hair.

Sew on the ears 2 sts away from each eye.

Use the two ends of the pipe cleaner to secure the wing onto the body by twisting on the inside between 2 sts. Then use the tail end to sew on the end of the wing to the body.

Rnd 10: [sc 1, invdec] 6 times (12)

Sew on the feet between Rnd 9 and 10.

Rnd 11: dec in each st (6)

Stuff fully, add in a magnet before stuffing closed so that your bat can hang on anything metal!
