  1. Hi, I’m making all of the Dinos for Lava run and they are all so cute! I saw the Dilophosaurus didn’t have its own pattern but I thought it wouldn’t be too hard to modify this pattern into a Dilophosaurus. Here’s what I came up with.

Work all the following in a second colour (worsted weight).

Head fins x2 (Do same time as teeth)

Chain 8, skip three stitches, in back of chain [dc, hdc, sc, slst] cut off pull through with long-ish tail. There should be one chain not part of the fin.
Tails should be next to each other, weave tail through FLO of chain and BLO on the second fin to move to far side of fin tie knot around chain to lock in

Pull both narrow side tails into stitch hole directly between the top of the nostrils, make sure extra chain is pulled through into body. Make sure the tied through sides of the chains are on the inside of the fins.
Pull both thick side tail into hole two stitches behind triple increase from rnd 1 into body
Tie both tails of the left fin together. Do the same for the right fin so they are locked in.
    Trim tails if you wish.

Side frills x2 (Do after sewing body close)

    Chain 5, {sc, hdc} mp, {dc, dc}, mp, {dc, dc}, mp, {hdc, sc}, chain 1 Pull through with long tail
Sew the tail in the middle to the other end of the frill and knot around stitches

Sew tails in like stego to lock in frill starting with long chain just behind eye and down and around the head ending below the tooth. Place where you think it looks best.

I have a few pictures of the one I made, not sure how to upload them here so here’s a link to the doc I wrote this down in. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YFBH5wSskq46sD2gOqKHO85x-POTbpD8pNnQUiaIgi8/edit?usp=sharing

    • By the way, I’m very new to crochet so this pattern might have something real stupid in it and I wouldn’t know. Feedback is appreciated. Also, if you makes these additions it’s probably a good idea to put in coins in the bottom like Louis suggests. It’s very tippy with the extra top weight.

  2. Adore this one me and Warren worked on this over the weekend and added 3D printed teeth and eyes it’s so cute.

  3. PDF link is dead again. 😛 Not a huge deal to me but thought I’d report. I LOVE these little dinos! I make them and leave them in a box on my porch for people delivering packages (there’s a sign telling them to take one)
