Minigurumi Skull

In this ultra miniature amigurumi pattern, aka minigurumi, we'll learn to crochet a 1" skull using only 40 stitches without any sewing at all! This minigurumi pattern is a little tricky, but extremely satisfying to complete, and in such a small amount of stitches, can be made in less than 10 minutes easy!

01Minigurumi Skull Pattern

[Starting in White] Magic loop

Rnd 1: sc 8 times in the magic loop (8)

Rnd 2: [sc 3, inc] 2 times (10)

In the following 2 rounds we will be making a few stitches using half color changes so that the top of the stitch is White, and the bottom is Black. For detailed instructions on half color changes see the video tutorial at (05:18) or this in depth lesson on color changes. All half color changes in this pattern will be worked in the BLO of the stitch (aka Back Loops Only)

Underlined = Half color changes in White / Black so that white is on top, and worked in the BLO.

Rnd 3: sc 2, sc 1, sc 2, sc 1, sc 4 (10)

Rnd 4: invdec 1, sc 2, sc 1, sc 2, slst 1 (7 stopping 2 early)

Rnd 5: turn and skip 1, working in the BLO slst 5 (5 teeth)

Cut the yarn and pull through. Pull the magic loop end through a stitch on the back. Sew closed by working the tail end into the FLO of the next 4 stitches, then into the 5 unused BLO from when you made the teeth (Rnd 5). Stuff slightly and pull tight to close. Sew this into the bottom and out through the same stitch as the magic loop end to double knot, cut close, and stuff back into the piece.

  1. Louie, you mad man. You absolute genius. How you managed to create something to tiny (40 stitches!!) and yet so detailed, is wild.
Only mistake i see in the pattern is round 2 should be (3sc, in) x 2 , as mentioned in the livestream, other than that, absolute perfection. can see myself making approximately 2,766 of these. Maybe.
