I’m so excited to share something brand new: Camp Crochet — a workshop series where we’ll learn, create, and design together in a fun, hands-on way. Think of it like a cozy summer camp, but instead of campfires and bug spray, we’ve got yarn, hooks, and plenty of creativity.

What is Camp Crochet?

Camp Crochet is more than just a crochet class. Each workshop combines three experiences in one:

  • Workshop – Learn new stitches, techniques, and design skills.

  • Crochet-Along – Work through a brand-new pattern together live.

  • Design-Along – Get inspired to create your own unique spin on the project.

These events are exclusive to Design Members—but for the very first three workshops, Pattern Members can join in too!

How It Works

To join Camp Crochet you’ll just need a membership, crochet materials, and, optionally, a Zoom account! Camp Crochet is open to join with your audio and camera during the workshop, and participants will have a chance to ask questions, share their project, and hangout with like-minded campers! Every Camp Crochet follows the same three-part structure:

Part 1: Workshop Deep Dive

We’ll start with an in-depth lesson on a specific crochet topic. This could be anything from mastering a tricky stitch, to making expressive eyes, to understanding gauge and how it changes your projects.

After our workshop we’ll have a short Q&A to answer questions about the topic, and an even shorter break before we move onto our main section!

Part 2: Crochet-Along

Next, we’ll dive into a brand-new pattern designed just for Camp Crochet. We’ll work through it together step by step, with plenty of time to chat, laugh, and troubleshoot along the way.

Each project will be catered toward the topic and utilize the new techniques we learned to put our skills to the test!

Part 3: Sew & Tell

At the end of each workshop, we’ll gather for Sew & Tell, a chance to show off what you made! Everyone can share their creations on stream, and we’ll collect photos to showcase on the site afterward.

Here’s a sneak peek at the first camps:

  • Amigurumi 101
    Our very first workshop is a crash course in crochet basics! We’ll go step by step through the foundations of amigurumi while making a simple (and very cute) ball buddy together.

  • Beyond the Bobble Stitch
    A deep dive into one of my all-time favorite stitches. We’ll explore everything from the anatomy of a basic bobble to creative variations and advanced design techniques.

And this is just the start—new Camp Crochet workshops will be announced every other month, so there’s always something new to look forward to.
