Okay it’s finally time to show you what I’ve been working stitching together, it is gonna be awesome!
As many of you know I’ve been wanting to publish a book of my crocheted creations for many years, and after all this time I really wanted it to be perfect, and weird, and different in the most Louie ways possible.
Well I’m SUPER excited to share that finally the first official Club Crochet book Crochet Goomis is being released THIS YEAR! But it gets so much more exciting than that… and the book is only a part of the story (literally), so let’s take it one stitch at a time:
There were 3 things that were super important to me for this book and why it took so long.
1 – I wanted it to be BIG. I have soooo many creatures and characters that I’ve been creating over the nearly 20 years of amigurumi designing and I wanted to include a bunch of exclusive newbies too so I knew it would need to be a truly massive collection.
2 – I wanted a super solid publishing partner for this. One that could see my vision and help really get this out to the world in ways I could only dream of.
3 -And most importantly, in a classic Louie style, I wanted the book to be different than what I’ve ever seen before, which meant some out of the box ideas that – I think you’ll agree – are crazy exciting, including a narrative, a huge cast of characters, a map, and maybe most excitingly, a game.
So with all that in mind I present to you… releasing in stores this September:
50 Amigurumi Critters and Characters in a World Woven by Yarn
In this giant book of patterns we’ll be exploring the world of Goomia, a land of yarn and crafts, and crocheted beings that call themselves Goomis, each with their own unique crochet techniques, stories, and lore to discover as you hook your way stitch by stitch across the many different regions across the world.
Each chapter introduces you to a variety of quirky characters as you travel through the region, with a scaling level of difficulty so you get better and better at crocheting as you unravel the mysteries of Goomia. Each chapter ends with a boss that puts your hook to the test with unique crochet tricks and techniques.
You can pre-order Crochet Goomis now, and if you pre-order from Club Crochet you’ll get a bonus gift with your book! This is only half of the story though – with the release of the new book we’ll also be releasing a brand new collectable card game – introducing…
The Collectable Card Crochet Game
Battle Goomis is a fast-paced 2 – 4 player showdown where teams of crafty Goomis clash in a race to victory! Use each Goomi’s unique stats and special abilities to outplay your opponents by winding up your Yarn Ball fully or knocking out every rival in a fun, quick game.
There are optional instructions to crochet every character in Battle Goomis! Play with a hand-made amigurumi creature to inspire you and your Goomi, giving a subtle mechanical advantage in gameplay, along with a significant boost in intimidation factor on the field.
Battle Goomis will be launching on Kickstarter this September, and everyone who gets the book will get the code to a downloadable, printable version of the release starter deck!
