01Small Fins

[Starting in Color B]
Ch 4

Row 1: Skip the first ch, sc 3 (3)

Row 2: Turn, ch 1, skip the ch, sc 2, inc (4)

[Change to Color A]

Row 3: Turn, ch 1, skip the ch, sc 4 (4)

Ch 1, cut the yarn and pull through leaving a long enough end to sew onto the body.

02Tail Fin

[Starting in Color B]
Ch 5

Row 1: Skip the first ch, sc 4 (4)

Row 2: Turn, ch 1, skip the ch, sc 3 (3) (stopping 1 early)

Row 3: Turn, ch 2, skip the first ch, sc 4 (4)

Ch 1, cut the yarn and pull through leaving a long enough end to sew onto the bottom of the mouth.

05Fishing Rod

[Starting in Yellow]
Ch 2 or use magic loop method

Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook or into magic loop (6)

Rnd 2: [sc 1, inc] repeat 3 times (9)

Rnd 3: sc 7, invdec (8)

For an extra clean color change between Rnds 4 and 5 use the Perfect Stripe Method.

Rnd 4: sc 2, invdec, sc 2, invdec (6)

Rnd 5: sc in each st (6)

Rnd 6: sc, invdec, sc, invdec (4)

Rnds 7-12: sc in each st (4 x 6)

Slst in next, cut the yarn, pull through leaving a long end to sew onto the forehead.

Use a pipe cleaner folded in half, twisted, and tucked into the fishing rod to make it more shapeable.

Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook or into magic loop (6)

Rnd 2: inc in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: [inc, sc 1] repeat 3 times, [sc 1, inc] repeat 3 times (18)

Rnd 4: [inc, sc 2] repeat 3 times, [sc 2, inc] repeat 3 times (24)

Rnd 5: sc in each st (24)

Slst in next, cut the yarn, pull through leaving a long end to sew into the mouth.

07Body

Ch 2 or use magic loop method

Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook or into magic loop (6)

Rnd 2: inc in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: [inc, sc 1] repeat 3 times, [sc 1, inc] repeat 3 times (18)

Rnd 4: [inc, sc 2] repeat 3 times, [sc 2, inc] repeat 3 times (24)

Rnd 5: inc, sc 22, inc (26)

Rnd 6: sc in each st (26)

Rnd 7: inc, sc 24, inc (28)

Rnd 8: sc in each st (28)

Rnd 9: inc, sc 26, inc (30)

Rnd 10: sc 10, ch 14, skip 10 st, sc 10 (34)

Rnd 11: invdec 2, sc 26, invdec 2 (30)

Sew the Fishing Rod onto the forehead around Rnd 6.

Sew the teeth along the rim of the mouth. The 7 large teeth go on the bottom, and the 5 small teeth go along the top.

Sew the inside of the mouth using the skipped sts and chs from Rnd 10.

Rnd 12: [sc 3, invdec] repeat 6 times (24)

Rnd 13: [sc 2, invdec] repeat 6 times (18)

Add the eyes on either side of the mouth, 2 sts away.

Use a strand of Color B to add blushing cheeks.

Sew the Small Fins onto the sides and the Tail Fin on the back.

Rnd 14: [sc 1, invdec] repeat 6 times (12)

Stuff fully, make sure to get over the top of the mouth.

Rnd 15: dec in each st (6)

Cut the yarn and sew closed.

  1. Added magnets in the lure with the light (6, 12, 12, 12, 8, close with magnet at top) and rod base with magnets (6, 6 BLO, 6 until reaches length) so that lure is detachable to replace batteries.
