In this lesson we’ll be crocheting a bumble bee! We’ll be using the perfect stripe method to make the cleanest stripes for our bumble bee, and make some pretty snazzy wings by working around a chain. This pattern is great for beginner amigurumi makers to learn a few new tricks.

  1. This bee came out really cute!! Thank you. And thank you for the color change tutorials. It took a minute to get used to rotating yarn but came out really nice!!

  2. I followed along to make one bee and it worked brilliantly. I used a 2mm hook and made a teeny tiny bee. Now I’m going through using the pattern and the colour changes seem wrong.

“Make the first pull through with the first colour and the next with the second colour.” The pattern says Black/Yellow on round 5. This didn’t seem right because we’re moving into black, but I followed it anyway. The black line is too thin. I went back to the video and the first pull through is yellow, followed by black.

    Am I misunderstanding the instructions?

  3. Thank you, thank you, always a pleasure to watch your videos. The projects work out great!!!!! Club crochet & Louie you always teach me so much. My projects coming out better & better!
