Rnds 8-9: sc in each st (18 x 2) [All W]
02Adding Face
The right eye goes in stitch 2 in Rnd 7
03Adding Hair
Start with a long strand of Yellow yarn folded in half and thread the yarn on a needle.
Now, starting from the inside, carefully embroider on the yarn. I usually choose stitches that are directly next to each other to enter and exit the piece. This not only minimizes the yarn used, but it also makes it so you don’t have to keep reaching in and out of the piece.
Make the opposite entrances and exits for the yarn along where the part in the hair should be. For Sheik, I start from the color change from Rnd 4 to 5 and pull the yarn towards the sides of the face. Cover the Yellow stitches on the front and double knot the two ends together on the inside.
04Ponytail
[All in Yellow]
Ch 5, cut and pull through leaving a long enough end to sew on the back.
Wrap around using Beige or White yarn for ponytail holder. Double knot on the inside.
05Body (Cont'd from Head)
Bobble Stitch:
1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch
2. Yarn over and pull through
3. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops
4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 four times total
5. Yarn over and pull through all the
loops on the hook
For color changes in Bobble Stitches:
[Blue/Red/Green] = [Step 3/Step 1/Step 2]
Rnd 10: bo, sc 7, bo, sc 9 (18)
[1 N/W/S (bo), 1 W, 5 LB, 1 W, 1 N/W/S (bo), 1 W, Switch off 1 N/W, 1 W to the end (4 repeats)]
Rnd 11: sc in each st (18)
[3 W, 4 W/LB, 2 W, 9 N]
Rnd 12: sc 2, bo, sc 4, bo, sc 10 (18)
[2 Bl, 1 Bl/Bl/N (bo), 4 N, 1 Bl/Bl/N (bo), 10N]
Embroider on the eye symbol using Red Thread in the center of the Light Blue stitches from Rnds 11 and 12.
Rnd 13: [sc, dec] repeat 6 times (12) [All N]
For regular end:
Rnd 14: dec in each st (6) [All N]
Cut the yarn, stuff, and sew closed.
Rnd 14: [sc 2, invdec] repeat 3 times (9)
Rnds 15-17: sc in each st (9 x 3)
Rnd 18: [sc, invdec] repeat 3 times (6)
Cut yarn, stuff, and sew closed.
Now stuff it into the body. This may take a bit of tweaking to get all the way in.
