Rnd 2: inc in each st (12)

Rnd 3: [sc 3, inc 1] 3 times (15)

Rnd 4: sc in each st (15)

For the next Rnd, I’ll be adding bobble stitches in White to make eyes. These can make things a little difficult and are optional. For additional help on these and other ways to customize your eyes, check out the tutorial at ClubCrochet.com/EYES

Spiked Bobble Stitch (sbo)
Step 1: Work 2 double crochet into one stitch, leaving the last loop of each on the hook.
Step 2: With the loops still on the hook, work a mini picot (ch 2, sl.st into the 2nd ch from the hook)
Step 3: Work 1 more double crochet into one stitch, leaving the last loop of each on the hook.
Step 4: Yarn over and draw through all the loops on the hook.

Rnd 5: mbo 1 [White], sc 1 [Beige], sbo 1 [Yellow], sc 1 [Beige], mbo 1 [White], sc 10 [Beige] (15)

Rnd 9: Working into the FLO, [ch 1, slst 1] in each st (15 slsts)

Add eyes into Rnd 5 into sts 1 and 5.

Sew a bump on over the beak in White or Black.

To make the head attached to the body instead of a Birb underneath (secret agent bird), change to Grey and continue from Rnd 6 on the Body, working in the BLO from Rnd 10.
To make the head separate, slst 1, cut the yarn, pull through and hide the end. Continue on with the body.

*Skip the following if you made the head attached.
Sew on the Birb beak in Rnd 4 using the tail ends into st 3 and 5.

Add the eyes 1 st away from the beak, into sts 2 and 6.

Using the tail end pull through the very center of the head and cut close to create a little tuft of hair at the top.

Rnd 9: sc 11, invdec, sc 2, invdec, sc 2, invdec (18)

Rnd 10: [sc 1, invdec] 6 times (12)

Sew the wings onto the side of the body into Rnd 8.

Sew the tail onto the back into Rnd 9.

Sew the feet into Rnd 10.

To make your chicken lay eggs use the finger puppet method before Rnd 11! Find the tutorial at ClubCrochet.com/PUPPET

Rnd 11: dec in each st (6)

Stuff fully, add in a magnet before stuffing closed so that your pigeon can attach to anything metal!

To make your Pigeon “pooping“ use a long strand of white yarn with knots on both ends pulled through the Birbs body, through the head, and hidden under the fake head. Pull the end coming from the butt to make him poop!

  1. Thought free patterns on ravelry were free not have to have additional access . I have been a member for years and not had this problem before

  2. Absolutely obsessed with this pattern!! I’ve already made three chickens today, and they’re so cute! I made one each for my brother and my girlfriend, and they both love them as much as I do! (The third one is for me. Lol!) I’d highly suggest swapping the colors for different browns and neutral colors, as it can make really fun and unique individual chickens! Thanks for the pattern, Louie!

  3. I got the chicken in the monthy kit ( I am a pro member and proud of it:)) and I absolutely loved it! Just the right amount of challenge for me, but wasn’t overwhelming. The video was very useful! Super cute, and now my chicken birb is spying on my family members
