05Attaching Skinny Towers

Attaching 4 Skinny Towers to the Base Tower:

Make a slip knot using your Main Color yarn.
Turn one skinny tower upside-down and attach yarn in any front loop at the base (try to keep the seam towards the back), ch 1 and sc 8 in the back loops.

Now grab the base tower and turn that upside down, reach over and sc 8 in the back loops of the base tower.

Take another skinny tower and sc 11 those back loops. Now take your next skinny tower and sc 11 again.

Go back to the base tower, skipping 4 stitches, and sc 8. Take your last skinny tower and sc 11.

Reach over to the first tower and sc in the remaining 3 stitches. Slip stitch to the first sc to join.

Cut the yarn and hide the end into the first tower.

Use an additional strand of yarn to sew up the gaps–the 1 unworked stitch we left in each tower and the 8 unworked stitches on the base.

Embroider windows on the frontmost skinny towers (optional).

Attaching 2 Skinny Towers to the Base Tower:

Make a slip knot using your Main Color yarn.
Turn one skinny tower upside-down and attach yarn in any front loop at the base (try to keep the seam towards the back), ch 1 and sc 8 in the back loops.

Now grab the base tower and turn that upside down, reach over and sc 10 in the back loops of the base tower.

Take another skinny tower and sc 11 those back loops.

Go back to the base tower, skipping 2 stitches, and sc 10.

Reach over to the first tower and sc in the remaining 3 stitches. Slip sitch to the first sc to join.

Cut the yarn and hide the end into the first tower.

Use an additional strand of yarn to sew up the gaps–the 1 unworked stitch we left in each tower and the 4 unworked stitches on the base.

Embroider windows on the frontmost skinny towers (optional).

06Drawbridge (optional)

[All in Brown]
Ch 6, make sure to leave a long tail

Row 1: skip the 1st ch, sc in each ch across (5)

Rows 2-3: turn, ch 1, sc in each st across (5 x 2)

Row 4: turn, don’t ch, skip the 1st st, sc 1, hdc 1, sc 1, slst 1 (4)

Cut the yarn and pull through. Hide the end.

Using the first tail end sew this onto the front of your castle using the FLO from the base chs.

Using a second strand of brown yarn. Enter from the back of your castle through the front. Enter into one end of the top of your drawbridge, and hide the end into each st across the last Row. Re-enter into the castle and exit through a stitch next to where you entered.

Lay your drawbridge flat and tie a knot in the two strings so that when they’re cut they wont be pulled into the castle. Cut the ends and pull the knot to close the drawbridge!
